Boca Grande, Florida

Weather in Florida wasn’t so hot (literally!) for shooting but got out a few evenings. Worked on textures and colors. Some successful, many less so. Thinking creatively however:The Boca Grande Rear Range Light (or Boca Beacon).

Sunset as seen from near the Beacon. I like the shape of the wave foam in the foreground and the purples and reds.

Boca Bay North path to the beach.

This is one that doesn’t quite work for me. The strength of the bottom is not balanced by the top i.e. where are the beautiful, puffy, sunset-tinged clouds when you need ‘em!

This is also another one that doesn’t quite work for me. I should have left more of the beach sand in the foreground…

Really like this one. Love the range of colors from top to bottom. Love the texture. Good photograph – in my mind.

This is a lovely collection, Chip. The surf in that last one is amazing.

Interesting to see rear range lights in FL that look just like the ones here in DE. I lived in DE for years before I learned why there was a lighthouse so far inland just south of the canal.

Thanks Ran. A thing of the past those rear range lighthouses… Now it’s automated lights on poles or buildings or whatever. More efficient but not nearly as photographic!
